potty training

So I was looking back through some blog post of mine that for some reason or another never got posted. One was titled potty training and all I had written was... potty training- day 5: this sucks. Haha potty training Sharlie was the absolute worst! I swear it is one of the crappiest parts of being a parent. All those stupid books that claim to potty train your child in 3 days, what a lie! If your child can communicate even by just pointing then they can be potty trained. More lies. So since I believed these books I started potty training Sharlie when she was 2. I wanted her out of diapers before Cole came {3 months later}. Needles to say it was horrible. Accidents all the time. She was good with number 2, but peeing was another story!  Instead of enjoying my sweet 2 year old I was getting mad and frustrated with her all the time. Obviously I still enjoyed her, but it would have been so much better without the stress and annoyance of potty training.
Well lesson learned with Cole I just kept waiting and waiting to potty train him. We just started a few weeks ago and man how different this time is!! He is doing great! Really he has had a few accidents and thats it! I am so glad Cole and I have had such a different experience! I look back at that time with Sharlie and feel bad about how frustrated and mad I could get with her.
I guess I am writing this for first time moms and for myself to remember. Seriously don't push it, just wait. Trying to get it done early is not worth the headache!
