Cancer...again

When my mom had cancer I did a horrible job of blogging about it. I have decided that I need to write down more details of everything that happened with my her. For now though while everything is going on I thought I would give an update on my brother. So some of you know his situtaion already, but for those that don't ...
My brother had this big lump on his inner ankle { he started to notice it last Nov/Dec.} he didn't think too much of it b/c he always spraining his ankles etc. Anyway long story short in July he found out it was cancer { Chondrosarcoma}. He went and got an MRI to make sure it had not spread. We were all just hoping and praying that it wouldn't be in his lungs and that they would be able to just remove it with clean margins. Anway we were really happy to find out that it had not spread to his lungs! We all felt relieved!
But then.... Wyatt tells us that even though it hasn't spread it is so wrapped around his tendon and artery that there is no way to get clean margins. Which therefore means the only way to get rid of the cancer is amputation. { he actually said well I know what I can be every year for Halloween... a pirate b/c they have to amputate my foot. Only Wyatt} We were all Shocked!!! For some reason none of us had even thought about amputation. We all just felt sick to our stomachs.
Wyatt went to a few other Drs and got a couple other options , but after a lot of prayer etc. he has felt that amputation is the best thing to do. He seriously has been so amazing. He has been very positive and just feels grateful that he is going to live. Fortunately, young active people seem to do really well with posthetics. I have no doubt that Wyatt will do awesome. I know he will still be able to be active and do all the things he does right now. I feel so grateful for his incredible example of faith in the Lords will. Right now he has a surgery scheduled for Sept. 20th, but it might change depending upon his insurance. It's so crazy how fast everything has happened! I was so glad we planned to go visit them while in AZ. We had a great time just hanging out, eating good food, going to Disneyland and the beach and we got to finally meet sweet little Navy!! Thanks Wyatt and Jenny for being great host as usual!! We love you guys!
