Summer Camp- Science

This week for summer camp I got to be the host! I decided to do a science theme because there were so many ideas and I thought that most things would keep the kids interest. Saftey first so we started off by getting everyones "lab coats" and goggles on. I really wish I would have got a picture of all the kids looking up at me with their goggles on, they looked so cute!
Our first experiment was making gak/flubber. Most of the kids liked it, but some were almost afraid of it! haha. Next we observed which items would sink or float. The kids all enjoyed this and it was nice that they all got a turn to drop items into the water. Then the kids made " molecules" out of marshmallows and toothpick. Lunch with a little Sid the science kid { for the record I can't handle that show, but it was science so it worked}. After lunch was snake bubbles and mentos in diet coke. Then we made crazy cupcake creations { or maybe most kids just wanted candy and nothing crazy on their cupcake!} Oh and somewhere in there we made lava lamps too!
Thanks for the pictures Jamie!

We didn't get to the balloon blowing activity so Sharlie, Cole and I did it later that day. Sharlie was amazed and Cole got scared!
