So we went to Pittsburgh with 4 or 5 places to look at. The first house- no. The house felt so old and the view from the creepy Jumanji attic was of the cemetery , it felt haunted. The backyards were so close together, the fences were chain link and the neighbor is on disability and therefore stays home and he smokes. No thanks, I could just see us wanting to play in the backyard and the neighbor out there smoking { really the neighbors backyard might as well be my backyard} . Next house not bad, but the people who live there right now are just straight up slobs!! There was stuff EVERYWHERE! It felt so gross. I tried to just imagine it with our stuff, but it was hard. The current tenants have a lease until July 31st, but say they are going to move July 1st. We could have moved July 1st, but judging by the way they keep their house I could see them not getting around to moving by the first.
The next house was great, but it was more than we wanted to spend. We talked the people down to 1,200 a month so we went back to look at it a second time. The second time we went through it I had the worst feeling. I really felt like I was going to throw up. It was frustrating b/c it was a house that had everything we wanted {a little more than we wanted to spend though}, but I just felt awful about it. We looked at a few town homes, but for the price I really wanted a house instead. Anyway we left Pittsburgh feeling blah not really knowing what to do. Beegh thought I was crazy for not wanting to get the third house, but I could not shake the feeling I had.
So we get home and my friend Nicole { she lives in Pittsburgh} calls me and tells me that their realtor just called them and told them about a place they think would be perfect for us. The landlord was showing it to someone else and was more than likely going to rent it to her, but he would rather rent it to a family. Anyway I call the guy and convince him to let Nicole look at it for us. So the next day I call Nicole to see when she can go look at it for us. We get it all figured out and then Nicole tells me that she dreamed about the house. She said in her dream we were going to get another place for some ridiculous amount like 1,200 { I didn't tell her anything about the other places we looked at} and that she told us not to get that house, but get this one instead. When she told me her dream I was shocked. I already felt bad about the house and couldn't figure out why, but her dream just confirmed that for some reason we were not suppose to live there. I couldn't believe that the amount of the other house in her dream was 1,200.
So her and her husband went and checked out the house for us {so nice of them} and they said it was great!
I can honestly say that I know the Lord guided us and helped us find a house. I prayed and fasted to be guided and we truly were. I think this just teaches me that the Lord does care about us and all aspects of our lives.
So here is our little house...
Its only 100 square feet bigger than our apartment, but it has a basement which isn't counted. Also our rent is going down!! I am stoked! To find a three bedroom, with a garage, backyard, newer kitchen and a newer bathroom within 20 minutes to Beegh's work is rare. I am so glad that the search for a home is over!
Here are a few pictures
