one crazy week

This past week was such a whirlwind of emotion!
My parents finally made the trip out to visit us. They got here Wednesday, hung out for the night and then left Thursday afternoon for the Hill Cumorah pageant. While at the pageant my mom had some abdominal pain, but didn't think much of it. The next day they were on their way to visit Niagara falls, but my mom's pain became unbearable. Instead of going to Niagara they went to the hospital. While at the hospital they did a CT of my mom's stomach and found a 14cm mass! When the Dr. told my mom about the mass she started crying and told her it is more than likely cancerous and that it needed to be removed asap. They gave my mom pain pills and told her to get home. They drove back here to Cleveland to say goodbye and catch a flight home the next day. Well the next day ( now Saturday) my mom was in so much pain that the medicine they gave her was not enough. There was no way she was going to be able to get on a plane in that kind of pain. So we took another trip to the hospital. My mom decided to get the surgery done here (luckily the Cleveland clinic is a renown hospital with a gynecologic oncology department- specialist in cancers of the female reproductive system). So instead of some wonderful fun vacation , my mom ended up in the hospital for 5 days and went through a major surgery. The Dr. is very confident that the mass is benign, but we won't get the final word until Thursday. It was just so crazy to go from one day my mom being fine to the next day finding out that she might have cancer. It is so sad to think of my mom going through chemo or to think what life would be like without my her.
All the love and support my family received was amazing, really I couldn't believe it. Anyway my mom is now at my house recovering and I must say she is doing really well!
In other crazy news like 5 mins after the Dr. told us the mass is more than likely benign we found out that my sister is having twin girls!!! We are all still in shock. Beegh and I will have 3 sets of twins in our family ( 2 from his brother Ryan and now one from my sister) Seriously I can't believe it!
